CIREBON, MEDIASERUNI.ID – This is the despicable act of a contract teacher in one of the elementary schools in the city of Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia. He preyed on his own student (a girl) and assaulted her. He invited the student (a girl) to a budget hotel and then molested her while pretending to go for a walk outside.

The contract teacher, identified as TH (26) from Plumbon, Cirebon Regency, is now behind bars at the Cirebon Kota Police Station.

Cirebon Kota Police Chief, AKBP Ariek Indra Sentanu, stated that the case of alleged sexual assault by the teacher against his student was revealed through a report made by the victim’s parents to the Women and Child Protection Unit (PPA) of the Cirebon Kota Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim).

“Our officers at the PPA Unit followed up on the report and apprehended the suspect,” said the Cirebon Kota Police Chief to journalists at the Cirebon Kota Police Station on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

According to the Cirebon Kota Police Chief, the incident of molestation occurred on Thursday, May 25, 2023. It started with the teacher inviting the victim through WhatsApp messages to go for a walk outside.

“At first, the suspect contacted the victim through WhatsApp messages to invite her for a walk,” said the Cirebon Kota Police Chief.

The victim initially refused, but the teacher continued to persuade her until she fell for his coaxing and eventually succumbed to the desires of the depraved teacher.

The lecherous teacher then picked up the victim. However, instead of going for a walk, he took her to a budget hotel located in the Kedawung area.

“Beforehand, the suspect and the victim stopped at a convenience store to buy supplies for the hotel room,” said the Cirebon Kota Police Chief.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the married teacher immediately assaulted the victim. Furthermore, after committing the act, he instructed the victim not to tell anyone about the incident. Then he took her back home.

The victim returned home in tears and later revealed to her parents that she had been molested by her own teacher.

Outraged by the story, the victim’s parents immediately reported the incident to the Cirebon Kota Police.

Now, the depraved teacher will face the consequences of his actions. He is charged under Article 82 concerning the protection of underage children, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

“At the moment, our officers are still investigating the suspect’s statement to determine if there are other victims besides his own student,” said the Cirebon Kota Police Chief.

Meanwhile, when questioned by the authorities, the suspect admitted to taking the victim to a hotel after chatting with her to invite her for a walk outside. Initially, there were no plans to enter a budget hotel.

“At first, I invited the victim without any plans to go to a hotel. However, during the journey, I directed her to a hotel and rented a room,” he said. (Mds/editor: maya diana)
